How is Kathy Afzali going to fix Frederick County? Let’s explore some fiction!

So hard to come by these days!

The race for Frederick County Executive is in full swing! Well, sorta. We hadn’t heard a peep from the Republican nominee until she made a post on her Facebook page (which is still titled Delegate Kathy Afzali by the way) yesterday morning. In this post, entitled “Thank You and Fact vs. Fiction”, we are treated to a big nothing burger of her priorities should she become the county’s chief executive officer.

Let’s go through her Fact vs. Fiction claims one by one!

Who could have ever come up with the idea that Jenkins and Afzali don’t get along?

Screen Shot 2018-07-18 at 1.13.38 PM.png
WHOOPS!

Nice try throwing the 287g in there in an attempt to sway the anti-immigrant folks! Also love the line about Frederick having enough of their own criminals! Is she suggesting that the High Sheriff hasn’t been able to control crime in the county? Just asking questions!

Claim #2-

Screen Shot 2018-07-18 at 12.59.03 PM

Hmmm, since fake news is in quotes, does that mean it isn’t really fake news? Again, a big bunch of anti-immigration hoopla that really doesn’t tell us anything about what she would do for Frederick County.  But keep on attaching your wagon to that rhetoric Kathy! We’ll see how it works out for you in the end!

Let’s move on to #3!

Screen Shot 2018-07-18 at 12.59.05 PM

Careful Kathy! With quite a few Republicans mad at you, it is imperative for you to earn some of those dirty liberal votes! Don’t you just love how in the same breath she tells us how awful liberals are while saying it’s good to work together? All of this is poorly written, but that one in particular was hard to get through.

And last, but not least:

Screen Shot 2018-07-18 at 12.59.06 PM

We believe the issue was that she put Hogan’s name on her signs BEFORE she secured the nomination and his endorsement. Therefore, that there is a nice little piece of fiction!

Regina hasn’t indicated if she will support Kathy, but man oh man Kirby is not!!

Screen Shot 2018-07-18 at 1.01.40 PM
Did you ever think you would see the day that Kirby would throw his support behind a Democrat?!

We can already predict how this is all going to play out, can’t you?

Yokel thoughts on the election.

First of all, WOW…just WOW! The three that we write most about (Kirby, Billy, and Tony) couldn’t muster up enough votes among their own party to make it to the general election. I guess it wasn’t just us! Billy really got his backside handed to him:

Screen Shot 2018-06-26 at 11.02.33 PM
Holy moly macaroni!

And the other two, who at least didn’t get trounced quite as badly:

But, still lost. We’ve been asked what we are going to do without these three to write about. And our answer to that is:

tenor.gif

For we care more about this county being governed by capable people than having material for the blog. Plus, there will always be SOMEONE.

We’ve been looking around the interwebs and have seen that many, many Republicans are super upset about Afzali snagging the nomination. We even saw this proclamation from Cindy:

36342088_10155669360536305_1795874419441139712_n

0852260e6679f71219b11bfe93c3a1f789e30730b7de842f9e666aab4717471c

Most of those upset (including Cindy; so much for mean what you say and say what you mean…oh wait, she’s just mean) are now advocating for Earl Robbins’ Independent campaign, so you can imagine how that’s all going to work out. Please proceed. Cindy and Blaine are amongst those who have already come out to support him. He must be pleased to receive the Silver Linings Playbook Slate endorsement. The infighting/betrayals of this county party are really a sight to behold, folks!

And yes, Cindy made it through to 6th place out of 8th in the BOE race.  Even she knows that it almost insurmountable. And if you know anyone who is confused about how to vote in the general election, you can find ample evidence online to share with them. Be forewarned: she considers it “bullying” when you cite her own words, er…uh, her own madness against her. Take heart that she received about 1/2 the votes she did last time, so we aren’t too worried. NONE of her slate made it, so thankfully we don’t have to draw your attention to any of them any longer.

More good news:

Galen Clagett came in last, showing that he wasn’t able to fool enough people into thinking he was some kind of Progressive Democrat!

Let’s all enjoy walking on cloud 9 today. We will regroup to prep for November very soon. Whoo hoo!

Let’s listen to the adults here.

It’s okay Freckles, you can come out from the plumbing.

Check out the article in today’s FNP about Kirby’s Gun Sanctuary. If you missed our post on this nonsense last night click here.

We just want to point out the quotes from his opposition in the Republican primary for county executive.

Delegate Kathy Afzali (R-District 4) wrote in an email: “I support the Constitution and all of its amendments, that includes the Second Amendment. Frederick County is already prohibited from taking actions that violate the U.S. Constitution. It is the great thing about living in America. I will not only uphold the Constitution, but I will clean out the squabbling politicians from County government. County government lets developers rule the roost. Clean house and protect the Constitution. I can do both.”

So read between the not so subtle lines here, Kirby you are one of the squabblers, and you need to go.

Regina Williams wrote: “I commend Kirby for his stance on Second Amendment issues. While I am a supporter myself of 2A, as County Executive, I plan to focus on issues within the County’s purview including County taxes, permitting processes, school safety and the heroin/opioid epidemic. Perhaps Kirby would be better suited for a state or federal elected position where he would have jurisdiction over his political priorities.”

We are going to disagree with any notion that Kirby would be better suited to a state or federal position. Kirby should just retire from any public office.

We will just wait for the next thing Kirby does that makes both Afzali and Regina continue to look like better options in the Republican primary.

Whereas, Kirby proposes Frederick County as a sanctuary ground for all the poor persecuted guns. WARNING: We did not make this up!

Into the old inbox this afternoon appeared a very interesting read. Kirby (copied from Zeus only knows where) has prepared a Resolution that he has to know the council will not pass. The best way to go through this mumble jumble of American constitutional thought is to lay it out for you bit by bit! With commentary of course!

Screen Shot 2018-05-17 at 4.41.51 PM.png

Man, this is going to be a lot of work for us. Let’s first look at the bills he’s upset at.  First on the docket HB1302, which apparently violates the majority of The Bill of Rights:

Screen Shot 2018-05-17 at 5.10.52 PM.png

We’ve been here before with Kirby. He previously made us defend Kathy Afzali for voting for this bill. Basically a judge, not just some guy, has to determine that your behavior is severe enough to warrant having your weapons TEMPORARILY removed. You know because of cases like this. In sum, it’s to keep violent people, especially domestic abusers, from killing people. We cannot fathom why Kirby’s love for the weapon supersedes this common sense legislation.  (Doesn’t a case coming before a judge indicate that some sort of due process has occurred?)

Next up, SB707. Here’s both the summary of the bill and part of the fiscal analysis.

Screen Shot 2018-05-17 at 5.16.32 PMScreen Shot 2018-05-17 at 5.16.44 PM

Anyone else notice how that analysis is in direct contradiction to what Kirby said about people already owning rapid fire triggers becoming instant felons?

Last bill on the complaint list. SB 281:

Screen Shot 2018-05-17 at 5.24.57 PM.png

You may remember this bill being upheld by the Federal Judiciary and that the Supreme Court REFUSED to hear any arguments against it. Thereby upholding its constitutionality. Because the Supreme Court (you know that pesky due process arm of the government) has also stated:

“Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.  For example, concealed weapons prohibitions … possessions of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing condition and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.”

And that part about the Maryland Constitution being severally violated by all of these laws? Well, we read it and the only part that we could find that was even close to mentioning guns (and it didn’t) was:

Screen Shot 2018-05-17 at 5.02.01 PM.png

Some more study may be needed. Do ya want to see the rest? Neither did we, but here it is:

Screen Shot 2018-05-17 at 5.34.14 PMScreen Shot 2018-05-17 at 4.42.11 PM

LOOK at that final FURTHER RESOLUTION!  He proposes that Frederick County be a safe place for all the poor illegal assault weapons. And, he wants the Frederick County Sheriff’s office to not enforce these state laws!!!! HOLY SHITE ON A CRACKER!

Has he not heard the news that most Americans are in favor of banning these types of weapons, as well as favoring universal background checks. Most people agree that bump stocks and rapid trigger devices aren’t so hunky dory. AND most people support getting weapons out of the hands of people who should not have them, even Kathy Afzali. Just who is Kirby trying to appeal to here?

Afzali inspires us to marvel, “Who is going to win this primary?”

We almost forgot about this dingbat, who is seemingly threatening would be donors to her county executive campaign. “I am a witch. Give me money, or I will torment you with evil conjurings!”

Kathy Afzali wants help
She really does need help.

What is with this clown show we are treated to by a too large number of local Republicans, anyway?

Bud Otis, for the love of Pete. Why, oh why, have you seemingly realigned with team dingleberry and the darlings of developers?

Aside Afzali we have a county executive candidate who hates free publicity–Kirby “don’t talk about me in the paper” Delauter, crafter of flowcharts, follower of none.

His sidekick DeploraBilly Shreve, who is consistently and appallingly incompetent on a vast range of subjects, and is running for Maryland Senate.

Plus, we will forever have Billy and Kirby’s fascinating friend who shall not be named (who we are worried/thrilled to consider, based upon rubbernecking over his not subtle enough Facebook musings, that he may be considering a don’t-call-it a-comeback return to public life with the launch of a sexxxpert advise [sic] podcast in honor of Human Trafficking Workshop Week next week). Gross. #partyoffamilyvalues

Added bonus. Also running for CE, we have Regina “The Bullshit Stops Here” Williams. We would tell you more, but her website reveals no official positions on anything. Gracious. Afzali has issues. Kirby has issues. We know you have issues, too. You sued the county.

It’s rather sad to note that Afzali seems like the most serious contender here, having at least had the forethought to think about the issues, and she really is a hot mess. Remember the time she had a spat with the sheriff, and was texting him that he was a wimp and a phony?

Go ahead, madam. Align yourself with the wicked witch. It’s a perfect accompaniment to your Pay No Attention to that Man Behind the Curtain president. This clownshow is a plague.

You’re sure no Ephelba. We’ll be over here defying gravity, thankyouverymuch.

Grandstanding points removed! Whatever will Shrelauter do?

In this morning’s Political Notes report, Danielle Gaines informs of of what our local characters are up to. The first part of her column tells us Jan Gardner and Michael Hough have come together to merge their ethics bills into one piece of legislation. Now, we appreciate when our politicians on both sides of the aisle come together, since that is a rarity in these here times. However, we cannot help but think that Hough may be doing this to take away one of #kirbydelauter’s favorite talking points! For whenever Jan’s ethics bill enters the conversation Kirby immediately responds by pointing out that Hough’s bill was so much better and comprehensive. And, we all know that Hough would prefer Afzali in the County Executive seat.

Don’t ask questions you may not want the answer to Mr. Patches!

It also appears that Billy’s suggestion that motor homes be taxed as real estate property instead of as a motor vehicle didn’t gain any supporters as the final agenda, as reported by Ms. Gaines,  for the county delegation looks like this:

A final agenda was set this week and includes six main items:

  • A legislative priorities presentation from the Frederick County Liquor Board;
  • a discussion of ethics legislation from Hough;
  • potential requests for state bond funding;
  • discussion of the opioid epidemic;
  • potential legislation from the delegation; and
  • public comment.

And speaking of Billy. Remember his fit about how he didn’t get all the information he needed (like he ever reads!) and how he was forced to PIA the county government to get what he needed?

In November, I wrote that discussions among County Executive Jan Gardner (D) and the county’s legal team resulted in a decision to revisit the request Shreve said was not completed.

County spokeswoman Vivian Laxton said on Thursday that an expanded packet of information was delivered to Shreve’s office this Tuesday.

Oh dear, with all their talking points slowly disappearing with the wind, what will they barrage us with now?

if-you-truly-want-honesty-dont-ask-questions-you-dont-really-want-the-answer-to

It’s poll time. But not our poll…

One of our frenemies is looking for information and has put out a survey because Frederick is just too darn big for her to knock on everyone’s door. There are only 11 questions so it shouldn’t take you too long to fill it out. Here is a sample question. See if you can figure out what is wrong with it.

Misleading question
Property tax rates have NOT increased. Property values have increased.

Your yokels like math so that makes sense right?

Math burn

Well, go ahead and take her poll if you want. Make sure you write in the issues that are important to you.

The bills are in the mail Afzali and Delauter!

On two separate occasions these past few weeks, our frenemies Kathy Afzali and Kirby Delauter have benefited from your Lady Yokel’s proofreading skills. Let us lay the evidence before thee.

Let’s start with Kathy Afzali. You may remember the post we wrote about her very poorly done website we posted on September 15th. We pointed out these glaring mistakes:

Isn’t the heart sweet?
Well, now look at her website!

Therefore, she gets one of these:

2017-10-20 (5).png
You may think that’s a little steep! And all we have to say is, “FREE MARKET, people!”
Kirby is also receiving a bill. Just a few days ago we pointed out his egregious use of the Washington Post’s Fact Checker page’s Pinocchio icon. Not only the icon ,but also the fact that he spelled Pinocchio wrong.

2017-10-17 (7)

We received some info about these claims. Here are the real facts:

The County received its first AAA bond rating from Fitch in March 2010   (Gardner BOCC)

The County received its second AAA bond rating from S & P in July 2014 (Young BOCC)
The triple AAA from Fitch was maintained in the interim period.

The County received its third AAA bond rating from Moody’s in June 2016 (Gardner CE)
The triple AAA ratings from Fitch and S & P maintained in interim period.

The first time the county had AAA bond ratings from all three agencies was in June 2016.

Now, we know he will keep getting the facts wrong, however, he did correct his misspelling. It’s still beyond us why he’s putting the puppet’s name in quotes.

2017-10-20 (9)

Therefore, Kirby also receives one of these:

We’ll let you know if we hit payday!!

Well, ain’t that rich?!

In the very real possibility that you may have decided to lay in a pool of mud after seeing our Narcissist-In-Chief’s Praise-a-thon first cabinet meeting, let’s get you up to speed to what our very own AG Brian Frosh did yesterday!

According to the Washington Post, AG Frosh joined with the District of Columbia to sue President Trump for accepting money from foreign investors. While he was president!! Something that is a big no-no! You see the Constitution  has this pesky thing called the Emoluments Clause that pretty much prevents that:

No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.

This morning, the FNP ran a story in which Danielle Gaines asked some local politicians what they thought of this lawsuit. Take a peek because it is chock full of so much goodness, however, we are going to focus on what No-Holes-Barred Delegate (and rumored CE candidate) Kathy Afzali had to say.

Afzali said Democrats’ questions about Trump’s business dealings are the result of their own lack of experience in owning and operating businesses. “We look at private-sector work as a positive,” she said of fellow Republican party members.

“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”
― Mark Twain
There you have it people!!! All these questions about Trump is due to y’all’s ignorance of business!! Don’t you know how it works? You take money from well…wherever, even thought it may VIOLATE the U.S. Constitution and then abracadabra BUSINESS! All fixed, move along folks, nothing to see here anymore!
