It’s your Yokel voting guide! Part 1!

Take it or leave it!

If the kittens can do it so can you !

We pay attention to a lot that goes on around here! Take our advice or keep your sorries in a sack by your bedside.

Governor’s Race

Let’s see, should we endorse the insurrectionist, copy and pasting lawyering weirdo who has never set foot in a public school? Do we want an election denying, Ivermectin taking, nitwit who accuses Brad Young of chemically castrating children as the executive of our state?

NOOOOOOOOO!

Wes Moore is the only candidate for governor for your Yokel gals!

Frederick County Executive

We don’t even need to discuss this one:

AS IF!

Jessica Fitzwater it is!

Maryland Attorney General

Let’s see will this one be hard?

They aren’t even giving us anyone to consider this year!

Anthony Brown is the only logical choice.

Frederick County Board of Education

We shouldn’t have to say this again but here goes!

Vote for these three only if you want to destroy our public school system!

Let’s see if we can come up with a nice way to remember who needs to be voted on to the board this year:

Dean Rose

Rae Gallagher

Ysela Bravo

Karen Yoho

How about RUGBY?

Rose

Under no circumstances, Cindy. Vote DEAN, Say that again: Vote DEAN!

Gallagher

Bravo

Yoho

This is how we will all look with Cindy and friends on the board.

We’ll have another edition out soon. If you need to request a mail in ballot, do it soon. The clock is ticking.

We can do something! Local elections matter and have consequences.

How did we let this happen folks? Those of you older than 40 know that things weren’t always like this. We didn’t always have this obsessive of a gun culture. There was a time when we wouldn’t have dreamed of allowing regular citizens possess these types of weapons. It all comes down to greed. When gun manufacturers’ market dried up in the the U.S. and foreign military markets ,they turned to the American public. And some of you lapped up their advertising manipulations and scare tactics to the point that this country is broken. This has nothing to do with the Second Amendment anymore (read the whole thing: the parts about well regulated and militia count just has much as the part the NRA posts in their entry way) , it’s all about an easily manipulated American public who helped ( and continue to help) unscrupulous, greedy gun companies get rich. It’s all so stupid and sad.

We’ve been thinking a lot about what we can do to change things. We keep wondering if this will be our George Floyd moment when it comes to gun control. It’s not as though a majority of us don’t already believe change needs to come. Just look at these polling results that historian Heather Richardson recently posted:

A Politico/Morning consult poll out Wednesday showed “huge support” for gun regulations. It showed that 88% of voters strongly or somewhat support background checks on all gun sales, while only 8% strongly or somewhat oppose such checks. That’s a net approval of +80.

Preventing gun sales to people who have been reported to police as dangerous by a mental health provider is supported by 84% of voters while only 9% oppose it, a net approval of +75.

Seventy-seven percent of voters support requiring guns to be stored in a safe storage unit, while only 15% oppose such a requirement, a net approval of +62.

A national database for gun sales gets 75% approval and 18% disapproval, a net approval rate of +57.

And take a look at this clip from conservative Supreme Court justice Warren Berger regarding the 2nd Amendment:

So what’s stopping us? First of all we need to stop electing people to office who hold unreasonable and uncompromising viewpoints on gun ownership. And that’s where we come in. We did a deep dive on some of our local candidates and their views on gun control. We discovered more than what we set out to look for, and we’ll share that with you as well.

Let’s start with our old pal Cindy Rose:

We know it’s a lot to take in, and man oh man she is so wrong on so many things, but here’s one more hot take for you to remember her by:

😳🧐🤯

Let’s move on. Running alongside Cindy is Nancy Allen. Look at the hot garbage we found on that one!

Next under the microscope is Tiffany Nobel, a school board candidate who thinks arming teachers is the solution to this issue.

It would take hours, if not weeks, to sort through all the pro-gun stuff on Dan Cox’s page, so we’ll just send you a little taste.

There are those on the other side of Dan who would like to see him win the primary because all polling shows that he would get trounced by whomever wins the Democratic nomination. And while we think that is true, we still wouldn’t be able to stomach the fact that he even garnered that much support. (If you are behind on how terrible Dan Cox is, just click here.)

Last but not least is NRA darling, Michael Hough. The man who is running unopposed in the Republican primary and thinks we should let him be our next County Executive.

This was posted in response to someone else letting the world know how insensitive he is to gun violence. It’s also nice to know that he subscribes to the ridiculous notion that Soros and Bloomberg are paying everyone off and couldn’t have possibly come to these conclusions on their own. Imagine how this ability to discuss other ideas would transfer to our top executive office.

Independents please don’t forget to vote in the Board of Education primary on July 19th. Here’s a few links to give your our thoughts on this upcoming election.

Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom pic on that one.

Make sure all your friends and families pay attention to our local elections. Just imagine a world in which Dan Cox is governor, Michael Hough is our County Executive, and Cindy et al. run our schools. It’s enough to give you nightmares.

What a great time to be #TeamRussia!

We have two local office runners who feel Team Russia is the side to take! First up, insurrectionist Dan Cox! Of course it’s no surprise that he falls on the side of Trump who called Putin’s aggressive actions genius. Behold:

We are always amazed by his poor writing skills.

Here’s what he’s liking on Twitter today!

Perennial school board candidate has many green thoughts about the situation, and of course it’s ignorant as all get out.

Oh it’s exactly what it seems dummy.
Uh.. God the world this woman lives in.
What an intelligent, classy, and well formed thought!
Sigh.

Stay vigilant folks! We cannot let people with poor judgment into our political arena!

A potpourri of dumbf@ckery!

This election year is going to be a hot mess! And this is coming from a group of gals who followed Billy Shreve, Kirby Deluater, Blaine Young, and Tony Chmelik for years! We must guard our local government against the people who have no idea what’s going on outside their partisan bubble.

We’ll get you all nice and updated with our perennial foe, Cindy Rose, first! If you want to steel yourself with a shot of tequila, you’ll get no judgement from us!

When’s the last time she was in the company of other humans? Any English teachers want to use their red pen on this one?

Nope! Grow up! (Editor’s note: do y’all think this means she reaaaaally wants to be able to use the n word?)

Seriously!

Science teachers beware!

This last post is seriously one of the dumbest things we have ever read. Why fund studies? Why do experiments? Cindy has all the anecdotal evidence y’all will ever need! Folks, if we allow someone who wants to ban books, remove sex education from the curriculum because she finds it disrespectful, and apparently believes her stories trump peer-reviewed studies, why do we even have a school system? But that’s the point: make no mistake, that’s the absolute goal of Cindy and these other Republicans. They want to dismantle and delegitimize public education.

Yeah, that’s the reason. And so very rich coming from someone who wants to restrict information in the schools! And we think you mean “where,” not “were.”

Unfortunately we need to move on to Dan Cox and his delusional campaign for governor.

Dan claims that he’s a lawyer, but man his lack of knowledge is just embarrassing.

Seems like a good time to bring this back up!

Wondering what he’s been up to during this legislative session?

NB: Not that we would have been Tories back in the day, but Cox aligns himself instinctively? habitually? both? with overthrowing the government. Since he thinks Pence is a traitor, given all we know about current events, it’s a terrible look.

The opposition to a ghost gun ban is really special in light of the fact that a child was shot at a Montgomery County high school recently with a ghost gun. Dan (who didn’t attend public school nor do his children) doesn’t seem to realize that not all parents are good parents, and that for some kids school is the only place where they can talk to a trusted adult. Forcing school personnel to disclose certain information can lead to real harm to these children, both psychologically and physically. Impeaching an out-going governor is also a fun throw-in! Wonder where he copied and pasted that from! But Dan doesn’t live in the real world, just click on through this link to see our previous reporting on his past antics.

One last look at Dan’s amazing logic:

Whoa! That’s a lot to unpack! Maybe he is (gasp!) even more confused than we thought, though, since the Tories would have thought much the same of General Washington’s guerilla warriors. Pick an idea, Dan!

Isn’t it stunning how many Republicans worship Putin these days?

We’ll end on the other Republican candidate for governor, since dismantling public education seems to be the theme of this election year:

Let’s unpack this a bit shall we? Charter schools have not shown any better outcomes, especially the for-profit ones. Which are the ones Republicans push for because it makes money for their cronies. Schools have been open and those that have closed around the country have been the ones WITHOUT mask mandates. Curriculums and standards ARE already posted online, stop being lazy and look. What defines partisan politics? We would love an answer please! And do these safe school initiatives include keeping weapons out of the schools? We’ll be waiting……

It’s a Cox Trumpsgiving miracle!

Boy, do we have some good stuff for you this morning! Insurrectionist Dan Cox once again proves that he has the absolute worst political instincts of any American political candidate, anywhere!

Complete and total endorsement! How fancy!

This really begs the question: Does Dan know what state he lives in?

Where does most of Maryland’s population live? It’s not that hard to find out!

Larry Hogan had a bit of fun with this yesterday:

And a very obvious one!

It’s very apparent that Dan doesn’t want to win. If he did, he would have taken a page out of Youngkin’s playbook and avoided Trump like the plague. But then again, critical thinking isn’t one of Dan’s strong suits!

We’ll leave you with some comments from the FNP article on this travesty:

That’s all you can do with these people!

#neverforget:

Is the 4th time a charm? Cindy Rose sure hopes so!

The tenacity of some folks!

Thrice loser, Cindy Rose, is hoping all this fraudulent election stuff (Trump is going to be President again don’t ya know!), harmful vaccines, unhealthy kid muzzles, and teaching people about the actual history of the U.S.A. is finally going to be her ticket to a place on the board.

No, it isn’t!

If you are new around here, or just need a good old-fashioned refresher, click on our very detailed reporting on this lady’s thought process. Beware, you are going to go to some pretty dark places. Pay special attention to her fear mongering regarding the sex ed curriculum. You’ll be tickled to find out that teaching kids about sex is akin to disrespecting all the little girls! #FACTS!

After hearing this ridiculous news, we decided to take a look at her Facebook page to see if things had gotten any better since the last time we had to write about her. It has gotten unequivocally worse:

We are sure Biden is shaking in his boots.
Imagine this one making any regulations about social studies curriculum!
PLEEEAAAASSSEEE!!!
Glad to see she’s finding common ground with the Democrat Socialist Anarchists! We didn’t even know that was a thing! Way to fit all those buzzwords into one post Cindy!

But seriously folks, this woman would rather your kids fall victim to a very transmittable variant of this virus just so she doesn’t have to admit she was so very wrong. This is probably propaganda to Cindy, but we are going to drop it here anyway:

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/delta-variant-more-dangerous-children-growing-number-kids-are-very-n1276035

Of course we are going to have more to say about her in the upcoming months, as we will also cover her new fave gubernatorial candidate (Poor Robin Ficker) Dan Cox. (Go ahead and click on his name for some good stuff!)

Stay vigilant folks! Our school system doesn’t need this kind of nonsense.

Polls and LTEs! Local races are about to get CRAZY!

A very horribly written and rambling letter appeared in the Frederick News Post from none other than insurrectionist Del. Dan. Mainly it was a bunch of straw man attacks against Jan Gardner, Kai Hagen, and Jessica Fitzwater. One LOL part was when he tried to fear monger everyone into believing that COVID-19 lockdowns would become a permanent fixture by asking this very serious question:

Can you imagine COVID-style lockdowns perpetually mandated because of a County Executive Hagen worried about climate change?

He’s even worse at “Just asking questions” than Glenn Beck!

This next part however, makes us think all these Republicans have entered some type of Gaslighting boot camp:

The use of quotes is really interesting, isn’t it? And don’t you love all the dog whistles? “…locals who have lived here all or most of our lives, ..attractive in our heritage and history, protect my freedom and way of life”! I mean really Dan, you aren’t even trying to hide who you are any more. And as for the insurrectionist claim, look we have receipts!

Take a look at that time stamp folks! Well into an hour of the Capitol breach!

We would be amiss to leave out another “local legend” who is trying to slither his way back into our local political scene. This was sent to us by an alert reader earlier this week:

We couldn’t stop snickering because: a. Who did this poll and please say it was expensive, and b. We don’t understand the conclusions that he came to from this data! Not at all!

Lots to take in, we know. Remain vigilant, last thing we need around here is a County Executive Cox or Mayor Young!

Did we wake up in a theocracy?

Things have been bad, but not this bad, right? Right?!

We know this election hasn’t even passed yet, but we need to keep a nice record of how everyone who will be seeking higher office around here is behaving in these dark times. We’ve had too much to say about Delegate Dan lately, because, well, he is terrible.

Even though he’s lost every idiotic lawsuit (even ones he copied and pasted) trying to fight public health measures because of REASONS that aren’t evident to most sensible folks, he’s forging ahead. Last night, we made a Facebook post regarding his defending two Harford County men  who apparently threw a fit at their local polling location because they were asked to wear a mask. Instead of obtaining a absentee ballot OR voting at the outside location OR just putting a fucking piece of cloth over their faces for a couple of damn minutes, these two decided to disrupt everyone’s day and cause a colossal scene. Don’t they seem nice?!

Well, Delegate Dan jumped all over that. Worked up an idiotic constitutional claim that according to the Baltimore Sun, Judge Angela M. Eaves dismissed with these mighty fine words:

More harm would be done to the public at large than to the two Fallston men who filed the suit if they were allowed to vote without covering their faces during the COVID-19 pandemic, Harford County Circuit Judge Angela M. Eaves ruled.

“That disenfranchises everyone,” said Eaves, noting the pair’s request met none of the standards for a temporary restraining order. “That is the greater injury in this case.”

CORRECT! You can read the whole story for yourself. But, folks this isn’t even the worst of it. Yesterday afternoon Delegate Dan changed course. Instead of making a constitutional argument, he’s going to go with a biblical one. That’s right, biblical.

Now, the anti-maskers’ religious freedom is in danger of being flushed right down the toilet. BEHOLD:

The amended complaint adds a contention that Daniel Swain’s right to religious freedom was violated. Because Swain is a Christian, he was created “to breathe as part of our direct worship,” the complaint said, quoting Psalm 150:6 “let all that has breath praise the Lord.”

“Plaintiff Dan Swain believes in his religious right to breath oxygen and worship the Lord his creator with an uncovered face, including while he votes, and not with a muzzle, face covering or mask, and as such has had his religious freedom violated,” the complaint states.

We here at the Yokel thought it would be fun to gather some biblical quotes about why you shouldn’t sue! Because if Delegate Dan wants to throw around bible quotes when it comes to very serious public health issues, then we’ll throw some out there that show he shouldn’t be doing any of this to begin with!

AND IT CAME TO PASS:

1 Corinthians 6:1-20

When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church? I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the brothers, …

Philippians 2:3-4

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Leviticus 19:18

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

If you missed the article in the FNP about Delegate Dan retweeting debunked crazyland theories, take a gander. This needs to be his last term in office in our fine county. Aren’t all of our crazy cups already all filled up?
