Once upon a midnight dreary, as I pondered weak and weary, never will I wonder why I didn’t cast my vote!

We are in a bit of a dramatic mood this evening!

Tomorrow is the last day to vote or to drop off your mail in ballot. We don’t engage much in making primary endorsements EXCEPT when it comes to the BOE race.

8 candidates get through after tomorrow. Let’s make sure we get as many hate slate candidates off the ballot as possible!

There’s been some good ole Republican drama that reminds us of the Great Kirby meltdown of 2018 going on lately. (Which is really worth reading again because Cindy Rose makes an appearance–she’s like Michael Myers, no matter how many times you knock her down, she’s always back up and scary as ever!) Like 2018 there are two factions. One is on the side of Cindy’s Original Hate Slate, on the other side is a group promoting the 2nd Rate Hate Slate which includes Moms for Liberty candidates and other people who like to make scenes at public libraries. Apparently this new group, who go by the incredibly ironic name “Voices for Freedom,” put together a list with a slate called “Friends of The Right Side.” This list was allegedly to be distributed in order to give voters a guide on who they should vote for, in the best interest of the GOP of course! Guess who wasn’t on the list? Cindy Rose et al! And rumor has it they were not too pleased! Heather Fletcher once again used some questionable judgment when she posted this:

But it wasn’t a misinterpretation since sources have told us that this list had language like, “Vote for only the candidates listed as it helps the GOP overall.” Not exactly the note any of us have written to ourselves as we entered the polls!

Why break the long-standing ritual of local Republicans eating their own? It’s a tradition!

And it’s so much fun to watch!

We’ll report to you when we know the outcomes. Make sure you do your part!

Let’s make sure we get some good candidates on our BOE!

It’s been a busy week at Yokel Headquarters!

If you’ve been a follower of ours for awhile, you know how concerned we are about this year’s BOE race. We’ll put some nice links at the bottom of this post if you need to catch up. But first, let’s get caught up on some recent news.

Yesterday the FNP posted an article, which made it seem as though the First Rate Hate Slate was out fundraising everyone.

https://www.fredericknewspost.com/news/continuing_coverage/election_coverage/school-board-candidate-slate-outpaces-others-in-funding/article_cb673722-19f9-5dc5-89a2-9c5fa8cbf64a.html

Some things that this article fails to point is that if you divided the hate slate’s money by 4 they aren’t doing as well as some of our favored candidates. Also, an interested reader analyzed the numbers for us and discovered that over 70% of the donations come from about 20 people including themselves and family members. But since every race seems to be a cash race, we would be amiss if we didn’t remind you to donate and volunteer for some of our good candidates. We borrowed this graphic from the Frederick Democrats to make it all nice and easy for everyone:

If you’ve been long time readers you also know that the blog Wonkette was one of our sources of inspiration for this blog. So today, when this story came across our feed we couldn’t help but start connecting the dots.

Here’s our favorite quote from that post (but be sure to read it all for yourself!):

But books are not the only thing Bosch wants to destroy! In leaked audio of a recent Moms For Liberty meeting in Lonoke County, Arkansas, Bosch is heard complaining about a school librarian she felt did not offer her enough deference when she came in to complain about books. ā€œI’m telling you, if I was — any mental issues, they would all be plowed down with a freaking gun by now,ā€ Bosch said, before describing herself as a patient person.

Hmmm! Let’s see here……..who is running for school board and had a hissy fit over a Pride display? And wasn’t there another candidate running as a Moms For Liberty candidate?

Who could it be?
Oh yeah! Let’s not forget about our second rate hate slate! April Montgomery, Heather Fletcher, and Tiffany Noble. (not pictured: Ashley Nieves)

And now for those promised links:

And don’t forget to tell all your unaffiliated friends they can vote in the BOE primary.

Let’s revisit our election reporting!!!

Make sure you do your research!

In light of Heather Fletcher’s national news making act of stealing the pronoun pins and checking out all the PRIDE display books from the Brunswick library, we’ve been getting quite a few inquiries as to which candidates should be avoided. This post will revisit some of our election posts (focused heavily on the school board) to get everyone up to speed!

In our most recent post, we did a deep dive to see how our local candidates feel about gun control in the wake of the shootings at Udvale.

We also put out the call for all Independent voters to make their way to the polls this primary season because the Board of Education primary race is open to ALL voters. You’ll also see your Yokel picks for this race!

Don’t let Tony Chmelik back into our county government. Period.

We also took a minute to remind everyone why Michael Hough would be a horrible choice for our next county executive.

Cindy’s hate slate doesn’t believe racism is a thing. Did we just have to type that sentence?

The national phenomenon of accusing teachers of being sexual groomers has made it to our fine county by the very unfine candidates listed below:

Cindy Rose

Mark Joannides

Olivia Angolia

Nancy Allen

Tiffany Nobel

Ashley Nieves

Heather Fletcher

April Montgomery

We’ll end our post with a primer we wrote back in March:

Please share this information far and wide. We need to make sure our school board and county governments remain sane and functional institutions. And don’t forget to check into our Facebook page as we frequently share what we find on our local characters.
