Many of you probably remember back in 2021 when the local Republican party didn’t vet their candidate for the office of mayor of Frederick City and they wound up with someone who served almost 18 months in prison. Because they didn’t delve into the background of this guy, they ended up with a candidate who not only served time for assaulting his girlfriend, but who also was facing weapons charges.
You’d think they would have learned their lesson and made sure they at least did a case search on folks from that point forward, but alas….According to the Frederick News Post, there was a little incident involving District One County Council candidate, Frank Hollewa:
The report states that Hollewa, driving a 2022 Ford Explorer, was stopped along a curb. Then, he accelerated and turned to the left, striking the Tesla before leaving the area without exchanging information with the other driver.
The report identifies Hollewa as the driver of the Explorer. Both vehicles sustained superficial damage, and neither driver suffered an apparent injury. The investigating trooper listed Hollewa’s condition on a crash report as “asleep or fatigued.”
Hollewa is the Republican nominee for the Frederick County Council’s District 1 seat. He will face Democratic nominee Louisa Conklin in the Nov. 3 general election for the seat currently held by Jerry Donald, who is running for the Maryland House of Delegates.
You may say, “Well this occurred during the election and how was the party to know?” Well, that’s where someone on social media went to case search (and yes we also looked it up to verify) and found all this:
Thank goodness there’s a very good alternative in Louisa Conklin. Can you imagine this guy taking over the seat occupied by Jerry Donald?
We also feel the need to point something else out to y’all. We are fully aware that most of our readers are not going to vote for any of the Hate Slaters for the BOE. However we did want to share this “event” that the Orange Man Ballot shared recently, because…well..it’s just so odd.

Take a gander at the please note section at the bottom. How would anyone with two brain cells to rub together come to the conclusion that this event will be a “civil discussion” that “Guests with a variety of viewpoints are welcome” to? It’s also interesting that children are not allowed to be present at this roast, since the theme of the event is public education. Just another example of “Be Best” in action we guess!
