There’s going to be some gloating!

Never in a million trillion years did your Lady Yokels expect to see election results like this! For 20 years we’ve endured Chuck Jenkins AKA the High Sheriff, never really holding out hope that he could be defeated.(Jenkins earned the moniker “High Sheriff” on our blog about ten years ago when a public commenter told then councilwomen Jessica Fitzwater that she needed to mind the High Sheriff!) No matter what he did, he survived election after election after election. This was the year that the bell tolled for him:

Holy Moly!

Now, you may ask yourself, is the High Sheriff going to be gracious in his defeat? The answer is a resounding no:

Oh Boo Hoo!

There will certainly be a hole in our blog without the High Sheriff to write about, but somehow, someway we will soldier on.

Speaking of losing badly:

Can he stop now? Please?

This is as bad as he did last time. We’ll see if the Maryland Republican Party will put forth a serious candidate next time. Hopes are low. The only hope that we have now is that he doesn’t run for anything ever again.

Most of you know that we get really excited about education, and we’ve sounded the alarm for years and years about the harm that people who have no respect for teachers, history, science, and other humans who aren’t like them could do if they got a seat at the table. Thankfully the good people of Old Fredericktowne understood the assignment and did not allow any of those people into our precious Board of Education.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Something these Moms For Liberty types need to take into consideration is the example of what just happened in Texas. Both the governor and senator-elect got into politics because of education. Couple that with the results of some of the exit polls that showed that many Texans voted blue because they didn’t like what the Republicans were doing to public education. If these policies are failing in a place like Texas, these folks should take pause and instead of running on who and what they don’t like, they should adopt positions that may actually improve public education. However, we all know that’s not why any of these people ran for the board.

We are so happy about so many of these results, even though we realize that this is mostly likely going to cause a lack of material for us. But, hey we’ll take a functional government and board of education over satire any day.
